Metronomy, led by founder and songwriter Joseph Mount, belong in the hallowed list of idiosyncratic, slightly eccentric, but great British pop bands.

As you might expect from a synth obsessive who’s written a love letter to his favourite drum machine, there’s a cool and pristine precision about Metronomy’s records, but also a restless imagination that magically transformed Devon into The English Riviera with a burst of elastic funk pop, and the brace of big singles from Love Letters and Summer 08 burst with energy that just keeps yielding new pleasures even after repeated listening.

There’s a delicious pop sensibility about Metronomy that delights in serving up contradictions and singalongs with irresistible basslines. Live, the band’s rhythm section adds a supple, fluid dynamic that gives all those big taut anthems the space to stretch out and shimmy. What better way to celebrate a Summer Series sunset.

Ticket holders will be given access to the private East Wing Bar with a free drink on arrival and exclusive entry to The Influence Project, a photography exhibition featuring portraits of the pioneers of R&B, Funk, Soul, Afrobeat and Hip Hop. Please note the East Wing Bar sits alongside the courtyard but does not offer a clear view of the main stage. The bar is open throughout the concert and your drinks can be taken into the main courtyard.
