Ghetts is increasingly recognised as one of the most vital, talented and enduring artists to emerge from the UK’s grime scene.

The east Londoner combines razor-sharp rhymes delivered with a crystal clear flow, a healthy dose of humour and creative, intelligent wordplay.

Following up on his incendiary 2005 debut mixtape 2000 & Life, Ghetts, known back then as Ghetto, has gone on to release five acclaimed mixtapes, three studio albums, alongside blazing freestyles and memorable guest appearances. 2018’s Ghetto Gospel: The New Testament, continued his artistic evolution and displayed a more mature, considered style that led to a prestigious Ivor Novello award nomination.

Ghetts’ latest album Conflict of Interest, his first for a major label is simply his most ambitious, fully realised project to date and deservedly made the Mercury Prize shortlist. Released in February 2021, collaborators include Pa Salieu, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Giggs, Dave, Skepta, Jaykae, Emeli Sandé, Wretch 32, Moonchild Sanelly, Dizzee Rascal and a host of other guests, further solidifying Ghetts’ status as one of the UK’s greatest rappers and a pillar of Black British music.

In just three years, Pip Millett, the 23-year-old artist from Manchester has grown into one of the most promising talents in UK R&B. She describes her music as “subtle, emotional and calm”, and she treads a measured line between laidback defiance and vulnerability, but the response has been anything but restrained. An emphatic and emotive COLORS session for single Make Me Cry, which lit up YouTube, has now racked up in excess of 4.5 million views.

Follow-up single Deeper Dark is another case in point. Opening with a tender spoken word sample, languid songwriting gives just the right amount of room for her captivating voice, and elegant sold-out performances across the UK, which amply demonstrated her charming and relaxed rapport with fans, have generated a growing hype around this undeniable talent.
