Within Somerset House Exchange, we actively build our community with a focus on freelancers, practitioners, and small businesses working in the arts and creative industries, or those that offer support to creatives, who are keen to engage and collaborate with the wider community here.
In addition to a wide range of creatives working in anything from animation, film, music, performing arts, to fashion, curation, AI and VR, some examples of organisations within our community providing support to creatives include solicitors specialising on intellectual property for artists/creatives, a sustainability company with a sole focus on the performing arts, and PR firms for arts and cultural organisations.

Applying to join – Criteria
Somerset House Exchange is suitable for teams of up to 6 people and comes with strict selection criteria. Memberships are only available for freelancers, practitioners, and small businesses who:
- Work in the arts and/or creative industries
- Incorporate and embrace innovation
- Have a collaborative approach to their work
- Strive to increase diversity within their sector
Limited number of memberships are available per month, with applications reviewed on a weekly basis. For teams larger than 6, other spaces are available.
Membership Options:
PAY AS YOU GO MEMBERSHIP - £25+VAT per person pcm + PAYG hrs
EXCHANGE 30 HOURS - £60+VAT per person pcm
EXCHANGE 50 HOURS - £100+VAT per person pcm
EXCHANGE 100 HOURS - £175+VAT per person pcm
EXCHANGE UNLIMITED - £270+VAT per person pcm
Somerset House Exchange Bursaries
We offer bursary placements of up to 75% off to people who have been historically marginalised and may face barriers in terms of access and opportunity in the creative and cultural sector. Applications are open on a rolling month to month basis, with 5 placements available in each round
