Over the last few years, Total Refreshment Centre played a pivotal role in fostering London’s jazz and dance music scene, hosting an essential programme of live gigs from local and international artists alongside club nights with the likes of Beauty And The Beat, Gilles Peterson and Sofrito. It’s a treat to have these Stoke Newington stalwarts back on the decks.
A vital place for left-of-centre music to flourish, particularly London’s resurgent jazz movement, TRC helped nurture a scene that’s since seen its artists build a dedicated audience, release dozens of albums, tour the world and take home prestigious awards, providing artists like Shabaka Hutchings, Flamingods, Yussef Kamaal, Alabaster Deplume, Nubya Garcia and many others a place to develop their craft, blossom and thrive.
After you’ve been on the rink, sit back, warm up and enjoy a drink in the Skate Lounge, where you can continue to enjoy the atmosphere and music, or head to the Fortnum’s Lodge bar, where a range of cocktails are on offer throughout the evening.
