Mr Jukes is the new project from Jack Steadman (previously frontman of Bombay Bicycle Club). The debut album God First has seen Steadman reinvent himself by taking on the roles of artist, composer, producer and crate digging sample-hound. After sketching out a bunch of tracks alone while aboard a cargo ship bound for Canada, he persuaded a remarkable list of guest collaborators including BJ The Chicago Kid, Lalah Hathaway, De La Soul, Lianne La Havas, Horace Andy and the late, great Charles Bradley to contribute vocals over his tantalising mix of sounds, delivering one of the most unexpected and hook-filled LPs of the year.
