Fotografía Maroma is an artistic platform connecting Maroma, a Belmond Hotel with a uniquely profound perspective of the Riviera Maya. Tapping the talents of two distinguished curators — Fariba Farshad of Candlestar and Patricia Conde Juaristi of Patricia Conde Galería — the combined expertise resulted in the scouting of four Mexican photographers, three of which with established careers – Patricia Lagarde, Javier Hinojosa and Ilán Rabchinskey – and one emerging artist – Margot Kalach. The four artists were commissioned to create artwork inspired by the modern vitality, and rich, mystical spirit of the Riviera Maya. The travelling exhibition made its debut in December 2022 during Miami Art Week and participated in Mexico City’s ZONAMACO art show. This May, the display will be showcased at the prestigious Photo London fair.

This panel discussion will feature curator and collaborator Patricia Conde Juaristi along with exhibiting artist Ilán Rabchinskey. Moderated by Avery Fletcher (Belmond’s Divisional Brand & Marketing Director for North America), the conversation will uncover the artists’ unique creative processes and the concept behind the Fotografia Maroma exhibition, all while generating buzz for the official grand opening of Belmond Maroma property this summer.
