In this workshop, the artist will share brief research on the formation of the inferno and its connection to society and sound/music culture. Following this, participants will attempt to produce the sound of the inferno, building a sculpture with a glass jar and several layers of copper speakers, designed with different patterns to represent the inferno in our life. A song can be heard when a magnet is passed through the middle. This workshop is suitable for a beginner who does not have a relevant background.

Participants should bring a laptop and headphones. It is recommended that they install Audacity and the Arduino IDE software first. These are both free and open source. It will be useful (though not essential) to have some sort of software to edit geometry, such as Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape (an open source equivalent to Illustrator).
