Painting with Acid and Words: Peter Doig's etchings for Derek Walcott Dr. Rachel Sloan, Assistant Curator of Works on Paper, Courtauld
For Doig, printmaking is an integral part of his artistic life: his prints and his paintings often work in dialogue with one another. Dr Sloan explores this vital aspect of his work, in particular Doig’s series of 19 etchings inspired by the work of his friend, the poet Derek Walcott, currently on show in the Courtauld Gallery’s exhibition.
