The Amateurs Club is currently part of Forest Fringe's Cinematophilia - a 18 month long project in which the artists of Forest Fringe will teach themselves how to make a feature film, and then make one.
Immanuel von Bennigsen has been working as an editor and assistant editor since 2006, gaining intimate knowledge of the filmmaking process from world-renowned directors such as Michael Winterbottom, Joanna Hogg and Lone Scherfig. He has since edited over a dozen shorts and three features, as well as been assistant editor on over a dozen feature films..
Immanuel co-wrote his first short film WHITELANDS (Soho Rushes Film Festival 2012), starring Andrew Buchan and Romola Garai, which was subsequently sold to Shorts International for distribution across their international television network, iTunes and Amazon Instant Video. His second short film PADDY (co-directed with Laurence Spellman and shot by Maja Zamojda) was selected by the London, Austin and L.A. Indie Film festivals in 2014.
The Amateurs Club is a free DIY film school, hosted by Somerset House Studios and Forest Fringe, featuring each month a different professional from the world of film.
The work of our artists is valuable and our events cost money to produce, but we also want them to be as accessible as possible. Therefore, we offer you the opportunity to pay what you can for this event.
