Fresh from her support for Bjork this summer, announcing a very special live performance from Klein, with support from Berlin’s NaEe Roberts and SIREN Djs.
South London based musician Klein is an artist who’s neoteric vision has seen her quickly become one of the UK’s most intriguing and unpinnable producers and performers.
Her often playful and restive approach to composition is instantly alluring. Samples of obscure Nigerian B-Movies clatter into jagged beats. Distant piano loops lurk in the haze whilst beguiling vocals fade in and out of the sensory World she has created.
Support comes from Berlin based Norwegian artist NaEE RoBErts. NaEE’s sound combines idiosyncratic musical experiments with pop music idioms and references, twisting conventions through repeated lyrics and unexpected samples, taking inspiration from both contemporary and traditional dance and choreography from her country of birth DR Congo. She sings in Lingala, Norwegian and English, and is interested in approaching the phonetics of language as materials, on equal level as the other sounds in her compositions. She was awarded a place on Berlin Community Radio’s Incubator programme in 2018. Her forthcoming release on NON Records features a remix from NON Founder Nkisi.
