We’re kicking off our brand-new Upgrade Yourself Monthly series with a session facilitated by the Working Class Creatives (WCC).

This first session is all about connection, creativity, and practical tools to help you grow in the creative industries.

Working Class Creative is a community-powered platform that supports and champions creatives from working-class backgrounds, helping them access opportunities, share skills, and build visibility in a competitive industry. Their ethos of peer-to-peer support and self-mobilisation is at the heart of this session.

Expect inspiring insights from the WCC team on self-promotion, networking, and community-building. Come along to connect with like-minded creatives, learn new skills, and enjoy food from Butch Salads in a relaxed, welcoming space!

To get involved in the session, please register your interest via this form:

Sign up will close on Friday 25 April at 1pm, successful participants will be notified by Monday 28 April.

Spaces are limited, and participants will be selected at random. If you're chosen, you'll need to confirm your attendance—otherwise, your spot may be offered to someone else.

About Working Class Creatives

Working Class Creatives is an arts organisation that confronts class-based issues within creative industries. We facilitate a space that puts working-class creatives at the forefront; A space for conversation, connections, and sharing of opportunities, skills, and knowledge.

We envision a creative industry where working-class voices are equally represented, valued, and influential. Our goal is to eliminate barriers of class, ensuring that all creatives regardless of their background, have the opportunity to thrive, innovate and contribute meaningfully to the arts.

About Upgrade Yourself

Upgrade Yourself is Somerset House's creative skills programme aimed at deepening and widening engagement. Managed by the Inclusive Talent Engagement team, the Upgrade Yourself programme exists to break down barriers and build confidence for underrepresented, aspiring creatives aged 16-30.

Using the creative community at Somerset House and beyond as a resource, our programmes provide emerging talent access to skills, experiences and progression routes to pursue careers in the creative sector.
