Presented by the Crafts Council, Collect is the leading international art fair for contemporary craft and design. The fair showcases the best work created byliving artists in the world today.
Where museums acquire art for their contemporary collections and interiors designers and art advisors select work withtheir clients, Collect invites art lovers and buyers at all stages of their collecting journey to become part of thecontemporary craft movement.
40 galleries from across the globe will represent over 400 contemporary artists in this stunning and exciting setting. Each gallery will creates its own signature curation in response to the historic rooms of Somerset House and commissions newbodies of work especially for the fair. 80% of the works on show will have been made in the last five years.
Made from an extraordinary range of materials, artworks on show will include ceramics, furniture, glass, wearable artjewellery, precious and non precious metalwork, sculpture, textiles and woodwork. Each piece unique, authentic, madeby hand with a rich narrative to tell. Prices range from £50,000 for high end collectors to £500 for those art lovers who arestarting out on their collecting journey and seeking stand out pieces for their homes.
Nestled amongst the exhibiting galleries, are craft installations by individual artists and collectives. Exhibiting under the umbrella name of Collect Open, work is made especially for the fair. Inspiring projects take artists' creative practices tothe next level challenging the viewer's material, social, political or personal perceptions.
