London’s roller-skating community take centre stage at This Bright Land, with a customisation workshop and party.

KeepItRollin, a not-for-profit, all-inclusive and accessible roller skate organisation and Somerset House Studios artist Tyreis Holder bring London roller skate culture to This Bright Land. KeepItRollin champion Black communities, diffability/disability, creative expression and movement. 
Bring your skates (or shoes) and show them some love with this customisation workshop, which includes:

  • A live airbrush artist to have your skates airbrushed using a selection of stencils
  • Paints 
  • Paint markers
  • Spray paints
  • Free laces
  • Free skate nuts
  • Stickers
  • Patches
  • Gems, trinkets and more!

Follow this up with a party from 19.30, which includes a freestyle skate session for experienced skaters to jam on stage.

This event is supported by Rookie Skates.

Please note:
This is not a roller rink event/stage
All skates need to have jam plugs to skate on stage
Over 18s only are allowed to skate on stage
The stage capacity is limited and will be managed on a one-off, one-on basis
The courtyard is not skateable due to a cobblestone surface

About the founder

Tyreis Holder is an artist, poet, community arts practitioner and visual storyteller from South London, with heritage reigning from Jamaican/St Vincent. Her specialism is textiles and poetry. She also works with mediums pertaining to print, installation, performance, sculpture, and sound. Owning her first pair of skates in 2014, she began her official journey in 2020, using skating as healing and meditation via music, movement, creative expression, fun and a newfound community.
