In a session filmed from Somerset House, Keiken co-founders Hana Omori and Isabel Ramos talk through the ideas and experience at the core of their cross-dimensional practice, unpacking the processes that help form their creation of speculative and immersive worlds - hybrid spaces that merge the physical with the digital.
Through examples across various mediums spanning filmmaking, gaming, installation, Extended Reality (XR), and performance, the collective share how they utilise some of these tools to simulate new structures and test-drive possible futures.
This Grounding Practice workshop has been programmed in conjunction with Amplify Digital Arts Initiative (DAI) 2022, an online residency programme bringing together an international network of female-identifying and non-binary artists and professionals working within the fields of digital arts and electronic music, produced in partnership with British Council, MUTEK, Oi Futuro and Artlab.
