In this event, which was part of The Wire magazine’s Music By Any Means series in collaboration with Somerset House Studios, Elaine Mitchener led a performance/talk/workshop demonstrating liberating and inclusive approaches to making music with a large group.
The event, which was recorded at Somerset House, draws on the ideas and practices of artists including poet NH Pritchard, improvisor John Stevens, Fluxus composer Ben Patterson and others to show how they can unlock individual creativity and organise and direct group activity. It is followed by a discussion and Q&A session led by singer/composer Loré Lixenberg.
