Channel is Somerset House’s new curated online space for art, ideas and the artistic process.
STUDIOS EDITIONS 2021 offers the opportunity to support artists and purchase specially designed editions produced exclusively by selected members of the artist community. Celebrating five years of Somerset House Studios, each Edition connects to artworks, research or projects made whilst in residence. This series includes the first garment edition specially designed for ‘Latent Joy’, a new music collaboration taking place at AGM 2021. The series is time limited, with all orders collected throughout the 3-month period and dispatched on Monday 17 January 2022. 50% of all profits go directly to the artist with the remaining 50% going to the Somerset House Trust Young Talent Fund, supporting the next generation of early career artists. All editions are accompanied by a hand signed certificate of authenticity.

MAJED ASLAM
Majed works primarily with video, painting and sculpture. After graduating from St Bart’s medical school in London and the Royal College of Art, Majed continues to practice medicine as an Occupational Health specialist. His work is primarily in painting and video and uses techniques of erasure, repetition and remodelling to create an experience of environments mediated through the effects of drugs, financial markets and technologies.
Rene Matić
Rene Matić is an artist, writer and poet based in London. Their work brings together themes of post-blackness, glitch feminism and subcultural theory in a meeting place they describe as rude(ness) – to interrupt and exist in/between.
HANNAH PERRY
Hannah is a British artist working mainly in installation, sculpture print and video. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Arts, Perry uses a network of personal references to continuously generate and manipulate videos, sounds, images and objects, exploring intimate memory in a hyper-technological society. Guided by music, repetition and deceleration, Perry reveals youth and femininity as defined through images as well as beholder of desires.
IAIN FORSYTH & JANE POLLARD
Artists and filmmakers working across installation, performance, sound, film and TV drama. Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard met and began working collaboratively as students at Goldsmiths in the mid-nineties. Initially recognised for their recreations of cultural and art historical events and documents, their work has been exhibited around the world and is collected by museums and institutions including Tate at the British Government Art Collection.
TYREIS HOLDER
Tyreis Holder is an artist, poet and visual storyteller from South London with heritage reigning from Jamaica / St Vincent. She works heavily in mediums pertaining to installation, textiles, performance, poetry, sculpture and sound.
Her practice centres around explorations of self and identity, the relationship with the mind, particularly with regards to navigating colonial spaces. Her primary grounds for exploration looks at how textiles pose as poetic language, functioning as a healing device - specifically in regards to trauma experienced by Black women.
PHOEBE DAVIES
Studios Alumni Phoebe Davies’ practice is defined by its location and context, investigating and exploring how people can challenge their social framework. Her outcomes take the form of constructed social spaces, live performances, video, audio and print works. Often she works with and in response to individuals and communities, generating work through collaboration and collective action.
ARTOR JESUS INKERÖ
Artor Jesus Inkerö works through performative processes, such as bodybuilding, behavioural therapies, vocal coaching, and creates videos, performances, objects, and images. Artor joined Somerset House Studios on a short-term residency in September 2021, made possible with the support of the Finnish Institute in the UK and Ireland.
LATENT JOY
Paul Purgas is a multidisciplinary artist working with sound, performance and installation, while Vivienne Griffin’s antidisciplinary practice includes electronic noise, one-to-one performances, objects (found and made) and drawings.

ABOUT THE YOUNG TALENT FUND
Somerset House’s Young Talent Fund supports the next generation to fulfil their creative potential as artists and young people starting out in the cultural sector. Funds raised help Somerset House Studios to provide bursaries and financial relief to artists who couldn’t otherwise afford to be in residence and provide opportunities to young people aged 18 – 25 years as they embark on careers in the cultural sector through advice, networking, skills-building sessions and paid industry placements. All donations make a real difference to what we can do, especially as Somerset House is an independent charity receiving no regular public funding.
