Belinda Zhawi
Belinda Zhawi is a Zimbabwean born writer & educator currently based in London. Her work explores Afro-diasporic research & narratives; how art & education can be used as intersectional tools. She was the 2016/17 Institute of Contemporary Arts Associate Poet & is co-founder of, literary arts platform, BORN::FREE. Belinda is the author of Small Inheritances (ignitionpress, 2018).
James Massiah
James Massiah is a poet & DJ from South London whose work explores ideas about sexuality, mortality & ethics through performance, writing & visual media. His latest project ‘Optimism 101’ is a series of 101 poems reflecting on stoicism, materialism, hedonism & excess, all written in January 2019, as a reflection on personal experiences from the previous year.
He has been commissioned to produce work for the BBC, the Guardian & Nike as well as featuring in campaigns for Selfridges, Loewe, Adidas & Champion. He has performed readings of his work at the Tate Modern, the Courtauld, the Institute of Contemporary Arts & the Houses of Parliament & been profiled in Vogue, Dazed, i-D & GQ. He has also curated events for Boiler Room & hosts the monthly ‘Poætry Show’ on NTS Radio
Nadeem Din-Gabisi
Studios resident Nadeem Din-Gabisi is a visual and sound artist, dj and poet. His work is centred around the re-presentation of the Black image, pertaining to people of African Descent and the limitlessness of what it means to be Black, other and more than that. His practice has been influenced by many years of work as a youth and play worker. Nadeem has recently completed his Masters in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art, performs regularly as part of the musical phenomenon Steam Down, and currently hosts a monthly radio show on NTS Radio. Nadeem has recently been collaborating with fellow artist Hadiru Mahdi at the George Padmore institute to realise an artistic response to their archive.
Nadeem is the recipient of the London Fields Brewery bursary, receiving a studio and an artist mentor to help develop his practice and projects over the next 12 months.
Lord Tusk
Lord Tusk is a master producer, sound curator and connoisseur of unplayed and eclectic Audio Waves. He has associated with acts like Klein, John T. Gast, Dean Blunt, Yasiin Bey AKA Mos Def, and released on Jon Rust’s Levels, Funkineven’s Apron, Soul Jazz Records and Low Income $quad.
