To accompany Somerset House's summer exhibition No Comply, Somerset House's Future Producers collaborated with Somerset House Studios resident Seth Pimlott. The exhibition, curated by Tory Turk, from an original idea by Frankie Shea was created with expert insight from acclaimed British skateboarder and Somerset House Visitor Experience Manager Helena Long. The Future Producers responded to the themes of No Comply, which included ‘the city as playground’, ‘doing it with others’ and ‘doing it for yourself’. Alongside designer Rose Nordin, they created a flag which currently flies above the Somerset House building.
The Future Producers then presented a new film in collaboration with Studios’ resident Seth Pimlott. This impressionistic portrait is a statement of intent about the way they want to live and work together as producers of the future. The film was collaboratively shot, edited and soundtracked. In the wake of the pandemic, they explore the political, ecological, and spiritual dimensions of their artistic practice in what is both a reckoning and a celebration. The film premiered at Dodge Lates: Tash LC x Future Producers on Thu 19 Aug, and then was made available to stream online.
